My little home server turned 10 years old 🎂…. and I forgot to celebrate 🙁. 10 years ago I put a not insignificant amount of time and money into this little home server. First, I had to decided if I was going to purchase a completed device from a retailer or piece one together. Using NextDNS for content restricting

Parents today face an enormous task of educating and managing a child’s exposure to digital content. I believe that educating and having conversations with a child will be more impactful than any piece of software. In days past, parents may have been most worried about exposure to items such as pornography. Today, exposure to misinformation, false advertising, and hate speech are extremely worrisome. Adding Mastodon Website Verification

In order to be ‘cool’ like the other kids, I wanted to add website verification to my Mastodon account. Luckily, this won’t cost $8 a month. 🤣 Outline below is the process I went through to add website verification. Validate hugo theme functionality: It is necessary to validate the theme being used supported this functionality. For the Bilberry theme, PR #445 added rel=me support to the theme. Why Ubuntu Mate?

Do you have a preferred distribution for Linux? I thought I would expand on my choice of Linux distribution. I have been a fan of Ubuntu Mate since Xenial Xerus release of 16.04. Having used it consistently since 2016, it has become to feel like home. I find it is hard to pinpoint a single reason why I have stuck to this particular distribution.
